NBAA: Thumbs Up For Next Era Act

0

The NBAA says it’s joining other aviation groups in supporting a bipartisan bill to set the stage for vibrant positive growth in aviation. The bill was introduced by Senator’s James Inhofe—a pilot himself—and Angus King, a member of the Armed Services Committee, which Inhofe chairs.

The so-called PLANE Act would promote growth by expanding Inhofe’s previous bill on the Pilot’s Bill of Rights and would guarantee timely resolution of investigations and administrative procedures. It also encourages investment in general aviation infrastructure, including hangars and ramps, by establishing public and private partnership programs.

“This legislation would help ensure that general aviation, which is an essential contributor to the nation’s economy, can continue its advancement in a safe and efficient manner for the benefit of all citizens,” said Ed Bolen, president and CEO of NBAA.
