The Pike's Peak Regional Airshow takes place on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9 and 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Colorado Springs, Colorado, Airport. Gates open at 8:00 a.m., and there will be over 40 WWII aircraft on display, educational hangar activities and the Red Tail Squadron Exhibit. The folks at Garner Field, Uvalde, Texas, are holding a fly-in breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:19 p.m. and invite everyone to stop in and enjoy South Texas hospitality at its finest. They welcome you to enjoy a hot meal, tour their collection of warbirds or just visit the town for some shopping.
The Boonville Airpark, Boonville, New York, is throwing a family fly-in and pig roast on Saturday, Aug. 9 from noon to 5:00 p.m., rain or shine. The organizers promise food on the BBQ, drinks in the cooler and tales of great flying adventures. They ask for a $10 donation per person. The Washington Pilot's Association's biennial Wings & Wheels Fly-In is at the Anacortes, Washington, Airport on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Displays, food and live music highlight this event-if you miss it, you'll have to wait until 2016 for the next one-that's what biennial means.
