The Weekender: Breakfast, History and Hangar Flying Kick Off 2015

The first fly-ins and drive-ins of 2015 are on the way, cold or no cold, as seen on Weekender’s SocialFlight calendar. On Saturday, EAA Chapter 50 will meet at Hinde Field in Huron, Ohio to present a program on the history of Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Bill Meixner, president of the Society of Air Racing Historians, Cleveland Chapter, will present.

Also Saturday, Friends of Minuteman Airfield in Stow, Massachusetts, will meet for breakfast and hangar talk at Nancy's on the Runway. Everyone is welcome.

Frazier Lake Airpark in Hollister, California, will hold its monthly fly-in and car show on Saturday. The turf runway is home to vintage airplanes and automobiles and boasts scenic flying adventures in the area. The airpark encourages pilots to check NOTAMs for runway conditions after a winter rain. In Fresno, California, on Saturday, the monthly Tailspin Tommy's Display Days welcomes all aviation supporters in the Central Valley region. Get your state of California display sign-off for taxes and visit Fresno Flyers Aero Club and Tailspin Tommy's Aerodrome Eatery.
