Weekender found some fun and informative outings to check out on the SocialFlightcalendar. On Saturday, free cotton candy awaits those who fly in to the Community Open House/Fly-In at Palatka Municipal in Florida. There will be food, displays and activities including rides in a helicopter, a Waco biplane or EAA's Ford Tri-Motor. Also Saturday, San Carlos Flight Center in California has invited a panel of aerial photographers and the commercial pilots who fly them to share their advice on staying safe while taking photos from the air. Pilots who fly with passengers taking photos will learn what the pros do for preflight planning and shooting through open windows and doors, as well as air-to-air photography.

For pilots and passengers who want to know more about working together in the aircraft during flight or in the event of an emergency, Inflight Pilot Training in Eden Prairie, Minnesota will have a one-hour open forum on Saturday. Have fun, improve your flying and get in touch with the friendly side of aviation. Enjoy free coffee, doughnuts and flying stories while checking out Inflight's new location and G1000 simulator. On Sunday afternoon, LightHawk will give a presentation at the Runway Grill Restaurant in Denver on its conservation efforts in the Rockies. Current and interested volunteer pilots are welcome to learn about the organization over beverages and appetizers, with an option to stay informally for dinner.
