The Weekender: Valentines and Other Celebrations

The Weekender remembered Valentine's Day is on Saturday, thanks to celebratory events coming up on SocialFlight. Perception Prime at Beverly Municipal in Massachusetts will offer discovery flights all weekend for those who make a reservation. On Saturday, the annual Aitken Aviation/Aero Minnesota Valentine's Day Fly-In will take place in Aitken, Minnesota. Roses will go to the first 20 ladies who arrive by wheels on the paved runway or by skis on the grass runway if they get some snow. Enjoy free hot dogs, chili, chips and other refreshments.

The Seventh International Lake Memphremagog Ski Fly Meet will be held Saturday at Weller Airport in Stanstead, Quebec. Sunday will be the alternate day in case of inclement weather. This is where Canadian and U.S. pilots meet at the common border with Vermont on the ice at Lake Memphremagog. Plan to fly in between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and meet until 3.
