Aspen Receives STC For Evolution MAX Displays

Aspen Avionics says it has received STC approval for its Evolution MAX displays. The MAX name denotes a “bolder and brighter display with higher reliability and several customer-requested functions such as font and window enlargement and increased processing speeds.”

Available now, the MAX system comes in a variety of configurations. A single Evolution 1000 PFD (primary flight display) run $9995, while moving up to the Pro Plus MAX adds synthetic vision and angle of attack for $13,485. The multifunction (map) display runs $8995 as the MFD1000 MAX, while the MFD500 version is $5495. The 1000 includes a secondary sensor set to act as a redundant backup to the PFD, while the 500 omits the duplicate sensors.

“We’re not aware of any manufacturer in this industry that offers this type of upgrade program,” according to  John Uczekaj, president and CEO. “Our corporate philosophy from the time we introduced the Evolution 1000 PFD 12 years ago was to offer new functions and safety features our current customers could adopt affordably and provide future owners the peace of mind that their investment is protected as technology evolves.”

Aspen also has package pricing from $13,995 to $19,995 for two- or three-screen setups. All Aspen Evolution displays share the same footprint, designed to fit into a pair of vertically stacked, 3 1/8-inch instrument holes. Finally, Aspen offers an upgrade path for existing products, ranging from $4995 to $7995, depending on the number of screens.

Our own Larry Anglisano has flown the MAX system already (see video below).
