Garmin has announced that its G1000 NXi integrated flight deck has been certified for Embraer Phenom 100 business jets equipped with the G1000-based Prodigy Flight Deck. The NXi upgrade adds features including wireless connectivity, Garmin SurfaceWatch runway monitoring technology, visual approach guidance, map overlay within the HSI and split-screen view on the MFD. In addition, the system supports the display of ADS-B In traffic and FIS-B weather.
“Since its introduction, the G1000 NXi integrated flight deck continues to grow in popularity and demand,” said Garmin Vice President of Aviation Sales and Marketing Carl Wolf. “From forward-fit to retrofit, we are thrilled by the tremendous adoption rate of the G1000 NXi and look forward to adding more aircraft to the approval list and continuing to deliver the system to thousands of customers well into the future.”
According to Garmin, the NXi displays use the same footprint and connectors as the Prodigy system. The G1000 NXi is available immediately for Phenom 100s and is expected for Prodigy Flight Deck-equipped Phenom 300 models during the second half of 2020.
