Bombardier will be quadrupling the existing footprint of its Singapore Service Center, according to an announcement from the company on Tuesday. The expansion, which is taking the 100,000-square-foot service center to approximately 430,000 square feet, will add heavy structural and composite repair capabilities, a paint facility, a parts depot and new customer facilities as well as expanding the already existing interior finishing shop. The center is expected to be fully operational by the second half of 2020 and will allow Bombardier to support more than 2,000 visits annually at the location.

“Our high-capacity, optimized Singapore Service Center will bring industry-leading aircraft availability, faster turnarounds and greater convenience and peace of mind to Bombardier’s growing customer base in Asia,” said Bombardier Vice President of Customer Experience Jean-Christophe Gallagher. “This expansion is another key building block in our drive to enhance the accessibility of our OEM expertise for customers worldwide and to solidify our position as a leader in aftermarket services in the Asia-Pacific region, a pivotal growing part of our global network.”

The Singapore Service Center opened in 2014 and is located at Seletar Aerospace Park in the Seletar region of Singapore. According to Bombardier, the upgrade will allow the company to offer a “one-stop-shop” for maintenance, refurbishment and modification services throughout an aircraft’s life. Bombardier also broke ground on a new 300,000-square-foot service center at Florida’s Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF) last October.
