CRJ Bizjet Conversions Offered

Project Phoenix announced a way to obtain a large business jet for a fraction of the time and money that the leading manufacturers are offering at the Dubai Air Show, as long as you dont mind a few thousand cycles or more on the airframe. The company is buying Bombardier CRJ-200 regional jets on the secondary market and giving them the executive treatment, along with a mechanical makeover. Project Phoenix is estimating each converted RJ will cost about $17.9 million and will present as new. For the money, customers will get an aircraft similar in size to a Falcon 7X or, naturally, a Bombardier Global 5000 with comfort for 12 to 19 passengers in the space that formerly shuttled 50 folks from small markets to the hubs. With long-range tanks, the converted airliner can have a range up to 3,000 nm. But perhaps more important is that Project Phoenix is pledging to have the converted airliner in customers’ hands in about eight months instead of the two to five years most of the manufacturers are back-ordered these days.
