Clarity Aloft Intros New Flex Headset At AirVenture

Bose has the ProFlight in-ear headset aimed at commercial flight crews and now Clarity Aloft throws a new model in the mix with the Flex. With FAA TSO, it too is fair game for airline and also general aviation use, but at $725, it’s priced lower.

Weighing 1.35 ounces, the Flex is Clarity’s lightest headset to date and has an adjustable microphone boom that can be installed on either the left or right side. The Flex uses the same dual electret microphone and dual-balanced armature speakers used on the other Clarity models, but has a redesigned frame that folds flat. But the idea behind the flexible frame is to enable far more customization than the other models in the Clarity line.

The Flex has ear hooks for holding the set in place and the flexible headband goes behind the head where it’s adjusted for size by pulling the toggles. Noise cancellation is rated at 29-47 decibels and the set has music input capability via a patch cable (unlike the Bose, the set doesn’t have Bluetooth capability).

The set comes with 12 medium, two large and two small ear canal tips, carry case and lapel clip. Visit www.clarityaloft.com, plus the company is showing the headset at AirVenture.
