Garmin will power the panel for Cirrus’s new SF50 Vision Jet and the touchscreen system includes five screens, including massive PFD and MFD displays. Cirrus says the Cirrus Perspective Touch by Garmin “sets the new standard in performance, personalization, safety and ease of use for operators.” Of course, the list of standard features includes all the stuff that Garmin has put in its most recent panels (synthetic vision, weather, automatic flight control system, etc.) but it also includes some airframe-specific innovations aimed at the owner pilot cruising the flight levels at 300 knots.

There is electronic stability control when the aircraft is being hand flown and the Garmin also keeps tabs on pressurization. Pictures of all the systems can be displayed on the three touchscreen controllers and it’s all designed to give the pilot quick access to information. FADEC is also part of the package. “With Cirrus Perspective Touch we are taking integration and the pilot-airplane interface to a level never before seen in general aviation,” said Pat Waddick, Cirrus’s president of innovation and operations. “Our owners and operators are going to be stunned at the capability and intuitive operation of this flight deck.”
