A couple of third-place victories were recorded by U.S. pilots in the season finale of the Red Bull Air Race series Sunday in Fort Worth. Michael Goulian earned the third spot overall among the 14 Master Class pilots on the season while Kirby Chambliss was third in the Fort Worth race. He ended up in sixth place overall. Goulian had a tough day on the course and finished eighth in the race but his previous victories and finishes during the season were enough for him to hang onto a top-three overall spot.

Czech pilot Martin Sonka won the race on Sunday and that vaulted him into the first overall spot, too. Matt Hall, of Australia, came second in the race and second overall. There were eight races in various locations all over the world during the season and pilots accumulated points based on their finishes in those races. The unique format combines aerobatics with pylon racing through a closed course. Retired Red Bull racer Paul Bonhomme flew the course and prepared the video below for Red Bull.
