A Hawker 800 jet crashed into a house in Akron, Ohio, about 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, sparking an intense fire and killing everyone on board. Nobody was home at the time, and no one on the ground was hurt. The jet had departed from Dayton and was on approach to Akron Fulton International Airport, according to an FAA spokesman. The airplane clipped some power lines, and about 1,500 people lost power.

After hitting the power lines, it crashed into a house, then struck an embankment and a second house, the FAA said. News sources said there were nine people on board, but the FAA has not confirmed the number.

The jet was on the second leg of a charter flight that began Monday, according to WHIO in Dayton.
