John and Martha King of King Schools announced at Sun ‘N Fun that all of their pilot courses will now be delivered entirely online. Until now, the courses have also been available on discs. In addition to internet access, the online pilot courses will be accessible through the KING Companion App.

According to Barry Knuttila, King’s CEO, “The free KING Companion App lets you download and take lessons offline and when back online, your progress is automatically sync’d with King Schools’ servers and immediately visible from all other devices.” The app is currently available for iOS only. Courses are purchased for life, and, if materials are updated between logins, an alert will notify the user which sections of their course have been revised.

The Kings also announced that their Cessna Flight Training System is now available for all flight schools and flight instructors. The system, which allows instructors and students to track and store course progress online and offline, was previously only available to Cessna Proficiency Centers. Their final announcement was the availability of a new Online Aviation Library. As with the courses, the library is available for life once access is purchased. Cost is a one-time fee of $79.
