The FAA has posted its Notice to Airmen for pilots flying in to the Atlanta area for the Super Bowl, to be held Sunday, Feb. 3, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. More than 1,100 GA aircraft are expected to fly in to the metro area for the game, the FAA said. The Notam covers procedures in place from Jan. 20 to Feb. 5. The FAA also has published a webpage with information about Atlanta-area airspace and airports. That webpage will be updated as additional information becomes available.

The FAA said a reservation system will be in effect to facilitate ground services at participating Atlanta metropolitan GA airports from Jan. 29 through Feb. 5. Pilots should contact the FBO at their destination to obtain reservations and additional information. Many airports will also implement special air traffic procedures to minimize delays, so pilots should plan ahead. A TFR centered on Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with a 10-NM inner core and a 30-NM outer ring, will be published by the FAA in January. The Super Bowl teams have not yet been named; Maroon 5 will play in the halftime show.
