Chairman of Universal Weather and Aviation Greg Evans has been given the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) Silk Scarf Award. The award was conferred for Evans’ contributions to the business aviation community throughout his career. In addition to being an active advocate for business aviation, he has worked with nonprofit organizations including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Corporate Angel Network, Impact a Hero and Operation Mend.

“Over many years, Greg has generously donated his resources, time, finances, and even his aircraft to support those in need,” said NBAA President Ed Bolen. “He is always willing to step up and lend a hand to help others. He embodies what the Silk Scarf Award is all about, and it is a privilege to recognize him with this honor.”

Evans began working at Universal in 1978. Before becoming chairman, he served as flight supervisor and as the company’s Vice President, Operations Officer. Evans graduated from University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, with degrees in Business Administration and Behavioral Marketing.
