WACO Aircraft Corporation has been acquired by Florida-based Dimor Group Inc. The acquisition also includes WACO’s FBO and Part 145 maintenance facility, Centennial Aircraft Services, which is located at Michigan’s W. K. Kellogg Regional Airport (KBTL). According to WACO, Centennial will continue to provide maintenance, restoration and spare parts supply for its aircraft. Dimor says it plans to support current WACO aircraft and expand into reproducing other classic aircraft models.
“We are very pleased with the acquisition of WACO by Dimor Group Inc., and we firmly believe they will be a good steward of the WACO tradition and brand,” said WACO President Peter Bowers. “We are looking forward to working together to build a great future for the company.” Bowers will be staying in his position at WACO.
WACO Aircraft Corporation is based in Battle Creek, Michigan. The company, which was founded in 1983, manufactures biplanes based on classic designs from the 1920s and 30s. It produces the three-seat WACO YMF-5, which also comes in an amphibious version, and the fully aerobatic Great Lakes 2T-1A-2.
Dimor Group was established in 2018. Its services include buying, selling and renting aircraft, along with providing maintenance and repair services.
