This week, AVweb‘s news roundup found stories about an FBO taking reservations for the Super Bowl, a new aviation search engine, a conservation organization looking for volunteers and a push by the U.K.’s Airfield Working Group to protect the country’s airfields.

Hawthorne Global Aviation Services announced that it has started taking parking reservations for pilots looking to fly to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, Georgia. The FBO is located at Atlanta Cobb County International Airport (RYY) and says it will be offering a variety of special services during the week of the Super Bowl. For those looking for more aviation opportunities, AeroSearcher has launched a new aviation search engine offering three primary search types: aircraft for sale, aviation jobs, and aviation parts and products. The company says the search engine indexes more than 20,000 aircraft, over 30,000 aviation jobs and more than 50,000 aviation parts and products.

SouthWings is looking for volunteer pilots with at least 750 hours of PIC time who are interested in providing conservation-themed flights throughout the southeastern U.S. SouthWings is a member of the Air Care Alliance. Finally, the U.K,’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on General Aviation (APPG-GA) has called upon the Housing and Planning Minister to provide airfields with the same level of protection as churches, live music venues and farms. The APPG-GA’s Airfield Working Group met with Housing Minister Kit Malthouse to discuss planning guidelines that would prevent new residents from campaigning to close active airfields.
