AVweb’s search of aviation news around the world found a new name for the expanding Nashua Flight Simulator, a new international seller for Seeker aircraft, and 2016 award applications announced by GAMA and NATA. Nashua Flight Simulator has gone national – to National Flight Simulator (NFS). The corporate name change reflects client and revenue growth, and an increased geographic service area.The Seeker, a one-of-a-kind, purpose-built light observation aircraft specifically designed and developed for aerial surveillance missions, will now be sold by Propel Aviation Sales & Services, LLC (“PASS”) in their dealership territories where Propel does business. The dealership agreement allows for the immediate marketing and sales of the aircraft throughout Florida, the Caribbean Basin (including Guyana, Suriname, and French Guyana) and Africa.

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) announced that applications are now being accepted for two prestigious aviation scholarships. The Edward W. Stimpson “Aviation Excellence Award” is given annually to a graduating high school senior who has been accepted to and will be enrolled in an aviation degree core program at his or her chosen university or college. The Dr. Harold S. Wood Award for Excellence is awarded annually to a college student who is a flight team member at a National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) member school. The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) announced that applications for the 2016 Aviation Maintenance Technician Employer Award Program are available now through Feb. 26, 2016.This award program is designed to recognize companies that employ aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) and encourage and support AMT training.
