AVweb’s search of news in aviation found an electronic flight manual for Cirrus aircraft, an online course for new drone flyers, an airshow debut for the Legend Cub, and a new takeoff weight for the Airbus H145 helicopter.Cirrus Aircraft announced the debut of their latest innovation in flight training – the Interactive Flight Operations Manual (iFOM). The iFOM is a multi-touch iBook designed for use on the iPhone, iPad and Apple computer platforms, providing pilots personalized mobile access to SR20, SR22 and SR22T flight procedures, standards and techniques. American Legend Aircraft Company announced its sponsorship of Greg Koontz Airshows in cooperation with C&D Aviation, an aircraft sales and service center. Under the agreement, one of Greg Koontz’s signature airshow acts will now feature the Legend Cub.

WINGsReality EDU has released an interactive, web-based training course for recreational and model drone flyers. This fun and eye-opening program is useful to recreational UAS/drone flyers of all ages and experience levels. Twelve modules teach about basic drone safety, fundamentals of operating safely in the aviation environment, model safety codes/federal aviation regulations and how the hobbyist can cross the line, and more. In December, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) awarded the certification of the increased maximum take-off weight (MTOW) for the H145. With this enhancement, the helicopter can carry an extra 50kg, raising the MTOW to a total of 3.7 metric tons. It will be available for customers in early 2016.
