AVweb’s search of aviation news found announcements from the National Aviation Hall of Fame, RANS Designs, Hillsboro Aviation, and L-3 Aviation Products. The National Aviation Hall of Fame announced that Amy Spowart has been named its new Executive Director. Spowart has been a part of the NAHF since 1999. Spowart started in her new position on January 1.The FAA has signed off, and RANS Designs can now supply the Raven, factory-built and ready to fly, with engines from 80 to 180 HP, as an SLSA. The S-20LS Raven carries pricing starting at $119,000. The SLSA Raven is already in production.

Hillsboro Aviation Inc. will become the Airbus Helicopters exclusive commercial aircraft sales agent for the Pacific Northwest and Alaska under an agreement announced by officials of Airbus Helicopters Inc. Terms of the agreement provide for Hillsboro Aviation to act as the commercial sales agent for Airbus Helicopters products in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming and Alaska.L-3 Aviation Products (L-3 AP) announced that its ESI-500 standby system has received Technical Standard Order (TSO) authorization as well as an Approved Model List (AML) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) covering a wide variety of aircraft. The ESI-500 standby, designed for class I, II and III Part 23 aircraft and Part 27 helicopters, is a 3-inch display that incorporates features such as synthetic vision (SynVis), obstacles, terrain alerting and navigation.
