Each week, we go through dozens (and sometimes hundreds) of reader-submitted photos and pick the very best to share with you on Thursday mornings. The top photos are featured on AVweb’s home page, and one photo that stands above the others is awarded an AVweb baseball cap as our “Picture of the Week.” Want to see your photo on AVweb.com? *** THIS WEEK’S WINNERS ***

Ah, summertime. We hope everyone’s enjoying thelonger days and the fresh air – since you’ve apparently lost interest intaking photos and sending them in for us to ogle! We know, we know- photo submissions always drop during the summer, and with somany high-quality shots finding their way into our contest these days,we really don’t have a right to complain. But we do work in tinylittle offices reading press releases and checking HTML all day.Your photos are the windows into real life that spark our imaginationsand let us tell the boss “we’re working” when really we’re just arguingover which paint job would be cooler if we had a shiny newpersonal jet. We realize everyone’s busy (and frankly, withAirVenture coming up, now’s a good time to get a few less “POTW”contenders in the submission box), but don’t forget about us when theshow’s done. We genuinely miss the flood of photos and are lookingforward to seeing more in August.

Enough begging! Time to make with thecongratulations, which go this week to Ric Leeof Sandy, Utah.

Yosemite Flight

Ric Lee of Sandy, Utah treats us towhat may be the first glider photo to be named an AVweb “Pic ofthe Week.” The incredible scenery here is from Glacier Point inCalifornia’s Yosemite Valley.

(If you compulsively look for similarities among our photo submissions -as we do – take note of the orange deco on the glider. There was alot of orange among this week’s submissions.)

Rainbows Land at the Airpark

Sometimes we leave the final “POTW” selection to Lady Luck, as was thecase this week. We simply couldn’t decide between Ric Lee’s gliderphoto and this breath-taking (and very orange) rainbow fromLarry Newman of Oro Valley, Arizona.

Our shiny quarter seemed to prefer Ric’s pic, but we’ll be sending Larryan official AVweb cap as well. (We’ll bill Lady Luck forthe extra postage and hope she ponies up.)

A quick note for submitters: If you’ve got severalphotos that you feel are “POTW” material, your best bet is to submitthem one-a-week! That gives your photos a greater chance of seeingprint on AVweb, and it makes the selection process a little easier onus, too. 😉

A Reminder About Copyrights: Please take a moment to consider thesource of your image before submitting to our “Picture of the Week” contest. If you did not take the photo yourself, ask yourself if you are indeedauthorized to release publication rights to AVweb.
