Each week, we go through dozens (and sometimes hundreds) of reader-submitted photos and pick the very best to share with you on Thursday mornings.  The top photos are featured on AVweb‘s home page, and one photo that stands above the others is awarded an AVweb baseball cap as our "Picture of the Week."  Want to see your photo on AVweb.com?  Click here to submit it to our weekly contest.

*** THIS WEEK’S WINNERS ***

"Picture of the Week" submissions are still hovering in the fair-to-middling range, as least where sheer numbers are concerned – but we won’t tire you with our usual bellyaching and begging. Why? Because the quality is still sky-high, and we’re having to turn away some awfully eye-catching pics just to whittle the finalists down to a managable number.

Tora! Tora! Tora!

Kicking off the excitement this week is 12-year-old Austin Randall of Clyde, Texas, who shot this week’s super-sharp winning photo at Dyess Air Force Base this past Saturday. "It was awesome!!!" writes Austin – and we agree!

Not the Best Day for Flying

Thunderstorms may have ruined many a flight plan, but at least they’ve given readers a few spectacular photos to share with us. Danielle Martin of Fayetteville, Arkansas snapped this one during "a very stormy week."

"Rockets for Schools": Spaceport Sheboygan

"Each May, teams from schools in Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin meet at Spaceport Sheboygan to launch rockets they’ve built over Lake Michigan," writes Gary Dikkers of Madison.

(Photography, rockets – how many hobbies do you have, Gary?)

More Reader-Submitted Photos
… are waiting for you in the the slideshow on AVweb‘s home page. Have a look!

Click here to submit your own photos to "POTW."

A quick note for submitters:  If you’ve got several photos that you feel are "POTW" material, your best bet is to submit them one-a-week!  That gives your photos a greater chance of seeing print on AVweb, and it makes the selection process a little easier on us, too.  😉

A Reminder About Copyrights:
Please take a moment to consider the source of your image before submitting to our “Picture of the Week” contest. If you did not take the photo yourself, ask yourself if you are indeed authorized to release publication rights to AVweb. If you’re uncertain, consult thePOTW Rules ororsend us an e-mail.
