Last week, AVweb asked whether the FAA should require traffic advisory systems for all aircraft to reduce the number of midair collisions (and other threats to aviation safety).  Not surprisingly, the readers who answered our poll overwhelmingly said no, we don’t need yet more avionics mandated by the FAA.

The House of Representatives has passed a bill that would make it a crime to point a laser at an aircraft, punishable by up to five years in prison.  Does the punishment fit the crime?
