The Weekender’s SocialFlight events include a selection of Women of Aviation Worldwide Week gatherings that will run through the weekend. On Saturday,FlyQuest and Huntsville Executive Airport in Alabama will team up for a celebration of women’s contributions to the aviation community. There will be lots of airplanes, plus food, speakers and activities.All this week and through the weekend, South Texas International Airport at Edinburg is hosting activities and free flight opportunities for girls and women of all ages as part of the Fly It Forward Challenge. Individuals and groups can learn about the history of women in aviation, find out what it takes to be a pilot and explore careers in aviation.

EAA Chapter 297 has rescheduled its Chili Cookoff for Saturday at the private Stag Air Park in North Carolina. Fly or drive in for a full sampling of chili and take part in the voting, along with raffle prizes. Check ahead for field conditions if you plan to land at Stag Park.The Southern Arkansas University-Tech Aviation Maintenance program at Camden, Arkansas, is sponsoring theCamden Daffodil Festival Fly-in with a full Saturday of activities. There will be an FAA Safety Seminar and aerial displays by the Midsouth RVators and Bulldog Flight Team.
