This double exposure adds to the wow factor. Wilfred Taylor of Oklahoma City, OK I submitted a "POTW" that you published showing my dad as a young man in front of his P-40 with the 80th Flight Squadron (Burma Banshee nose art). This photo is of my dad's 25th FS P-40 on alert in Assam, India, during the monsoon season. The tail of his aircraft is hidden behind a row of trees. The the nose art and "Sue Fay" are barely legible in this photo. The original photo (an old/small black-and-white paper copy) was scanned and cleaned up by my sister, Dorothy Taylor. I haven't been able to get much more from this old photo. A little background Wil Taylor shared with us: Dad named all of his fighters Sue Fay to remember his mother and his daugher (my older step-sister). The 25th FS Assam Dragon nose art was similar to the the Flying Tiger "mouth and eyes" but with a shorter tooth-line and the large front fang (mostly white with black outline). Some of the pilots opted for fierce-looking dragon's teeth and/or eyes; some opted for a more a comical appearance. Between the 25th and 80th FS, my dad had 75 combat missions before returning to the USA to Fly P-51s in preparation for the invasion of Japan. The 25th FS is still an active (A-10) squadron stationed at OSAN Air Base ROK. Dad lives in Las Cruces, now 95 and half years old. He is one of the last few P-40 pilots who flew combat in the CBI theater.
