PICTURE OF THE WEEK: Taking Off From Mink Lake
This shot was taken with a Canon Power Shot as I was a co-pilot in a Beech G36 Bonanza on my first flight to Oshkosh. Running low on time, with competitive sightseeing traffic in the vicinity, this was the last shot before departing. Photo by Michael D. Glasney.

Race 102 at Reno around 1980 or so. Taken with my Pentax Spotmatic. The evening sun disguises the color, the airplane in real life was green. Copyrighted photo by Philip Brown.
Evening at the Races
The Beckwourth Complex Fire started on July 2, 2021. I shot this photo when I was 8 miles west of Reno/Stead Airport (KRTS) at 14,500 MSL, in my SZD-55-1 glider. This was looking NW from my position which was 20 miles SE of the fire. Shot on July 9, 2021 at 2:44pm PDT with my phone. Photo by James L. Hamilton III.
