My daughter took this in our Stearman over Puget Sound. No digital manipulations, just straight off the iPhone. Photo submitted by Gregory P. Gilbert.
PICTURE OF THE WEEK: Wings Over Puget Sound
Aeroclub Guatemala volunteer pilots and soldiers join forces to distribute assistance to isolated villages after ETA storm strikes the Guatemalan mountains. Airbridge departs MGGT in small planes like this Cessna 182P to land in Coban. Then, helicopters complete the distribution mission. Photo by Carlos Silva.
After ETA Storm in Coban, Guatemala
I took this picture of Stearman NC4408N in December 1976, just north of Albuquerque, with an Olympus OM-1 camera. That's the Jemez (just SW of Santa Fe) in the background. At the time, it was on leaseback to Pegasus Aerial Sports, operating out of Coronado Airport (4AC), now defunct. 08N had been a duster with a metallized fuselage and a 300 HP Lycoming, with constant speed prop, but was restored to a two-holer.
