When an airplane has to be moved across a continent or an entire ocean, ferry pilots have to be ready to fly on a moment’s notice. And ferry pilot Margrit Waltz has done a lot of that flying, recently completing her 900th over-ocean crossing in a factory-new TBM 940, one of the fastest single-engine aircraft in the world. She tells AVweb’s Paul Bertorelli how she did it.
wow i admire that woman. nerves of steel.
Some people clearly figured out the game and won at life.
I love the part with the Pan Am pilot. Weirdly reminded me of that story about the “Dreaded seven engine approach”.
Margrit – what an absolutely wonderful human being. Calm, assured, knowledgeable and surely a role model for other pilots, male and female. Thanks Paul for the great interview.
Wonderful Aviator..!
