A new 16-passenger helicopter being built in a joint venture with Harbin Aviation Industry Group in China was unveiled at Heli-Expo on Sunday. A mock-up of the aircraft is on display at the show, and the aircraft is expected to fly in 2009. “With regard to our Chinese partner, Harbin Aviation Industry Group (Avic II), I have to say that our cooperation over a distance of some 10,000 km (6,215 miles) has been superb,” said CEO Lutz Bertling. “Based on decades of shared experience from previous programs, we have reached maturity in pooling our competencies and distributing the workload evenly.”
