Tucker and Chuck Aaron, GA advocates Ed Bolen and Mark Baker, and aviation author James Fallows. The gala ran for the first time last year, and sold out. This year's event is expected to do the same. Tickets are $1,000. The event also honors this year's winners of the Endeavor Awards, which recognize the work of volunteer pilots.

The awards recipients are John Billings with Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic, Rick Durden of Lighthawk (a longtime contributor to AVweb and other Belvoir publications), and Stephen Purello of Angel Flight Southeast. Each organization represented by the award recipients will receive a $15,000 contribution from the Endeavor Awards. "We are fortunate in this country to have so many dedicated volunteer pilots who provide thousands of free flights every day to serve people and communities," said Mark Wolper, chairman of the awards committee. "The Endeavor Awards were created to honor volunteer pilots and provide support to the non-profit organizations that arrange their flights." Tickets to the gala are available online.
