Two companies displayed new aircraft USB charger options at the 2019 Aircraft Electronics Association Convention new product demonstration in Palm Springs, California, on Monday. Mid-Continent Instruments introduced the MD93H, a 2-inch Digital Clock/USB Charger designed to provide power for electronic flight bags, cellphones, tablets and other electronic devices. The two-port charger delivers 3 amps per port and is capable of simultaneously charging multiple devices.

The MD93H’s six-digit, seven-segment LED clock can display local time, UTC/Zulu time, a countdown timer and a stopwatch. In order to maintain time and flight timer memory when not powered by the aircraft, the MD93H contains an internal battery with a life expectancy of more than 10 years. Features also include external lighting control and built-in photocell for automatic dimming.

Jupiter Avionics displayed its UJAC-001, a single-port USB charger that is capable of supplying 5 Volts DC at up to 2.1 amps. The circular panel-mounted unit measures 1.86 inches in diameter. It also comes with a dust cover to prevent contact damage to the port.
