Baldwin Aviation, has announced a new SMSTransport program designed specifically for the Emergency Transport Service (EMS) industry that also includes safety issues and concerns faced by clinical and ground ambulance operations as well. Introduced at the recent Air Medical Transport Conference in Nashville, Tennessee in September, "SMSTransport is designed to treat all three groups--aviation, clinical and ground ambulance-together as one unit rather than individual siloed operations," said Don Baldwin, president of Baldwin Aviation. The program offers specialized risk assessments, safety reports, and checklists as common elements of the safety package for each area and addresses specific key elements unique to each group that assist clinicians and EMTs in complying with government and commercial auditing standards.
