Last Week’s Poll Question: No Beards For Air Force


The majority of respondents said no to the idea of facial hair in the Air Force. Only 13% supported it unconditionally.

  1. If the Air Force really wants to drive another wedge between its various members, they can allow beards for some but not others. That didn’t work for the Navy when Zumwalt did it 50 years ago (I was there) but maybe the Air Force wants to repeat history rather than learn from it.

  2. No one wants to learn from history — afterall, the new batch KNOWS better than the old and adverse affects CAN’T happen to them.

  3. Thing is with the military is that we have traditions and change is not always accepted readily. Love to see the fraca that would arise if our Navy tried to take away the right to wear a beard, we sported them, oxygen masks and all.
