Englewood, Colorado, October 30, 2014 -- Crosswind Concepts, Ltd. (CC), a unique aviation training center based in Centennial Airport in Englewood, Colorado, introduces their "Stick-n-Rudder Ground School" educational offering to pilots. "While pilots walk away from our seminars and the ground portion of our Maximum Demonstrated Crosswind training session much more knowledgeable, the more time you spend understanding crosswinds in aviation, the more confident and safe you become," said CC Manager Taylor Albrecht. "This is why we developed a more in-depth ground school centering on the enigma of crosswinds." The course is comprised of three parts. The first is a weather review particularly as it relates to wind. The second is an aerodynamics review that starts with the four forces of flight and ends with a discussion of skids and slips as flight maneuvers. The last part looks at the impact of wind in the important taxi, takeoff and landing phases of flight. "We believe with courses like these in combination with our training programs using the Redbird Xwind trainer we can have a significant impact and lower the number of loss-of-control issues due to windy conditions," said Albrecht. "This is why we are not only offering the classes ourselves, but are seeking flight schools, instructors and other organizations to sponsor them around the region. In fact, our first partnership is with the Aspen Flying Club at Centennial Airport, who will be hosting the class on Saturday, November 8, 2014 starting at 9:00am." (CC) is a rare aviation training facility focused on extraordinary stick-and-rudder pilot training designed to reduce loss of control in the cockpit, a factor the FAA has declared one of the leading causes of aviation accidents. Because crosswind landings were documented factors in 98 percent of all landing accidents in a single year, a key component of CC's regimen is the highly effective Redbird Xwind flight simulator that utilizes powerful motors to produce life-like roll, yaw and drift motion in a realistic runway environment, allowing pilots to develop the skills to prevail during such landings. An Xwind student gains more crosswind landing experience in a one-hour session than a typical private pilot accrues flying over a two-year period.
