Construction is underway on a hangar at the Roswell International Air Center (RIAC) that will allow General Airframe Support to move forward with a major expansion of its national business, the latest project that demonstrates the growth and continuing business potential at the air center in southeast New Mexico.General Airframe Support (GenAir), which has been based in Tucson, Ariz., has been operating its RIAC business from other facilities at the air center. It is one of several aviation-related businesses - from parts suppliers to aircraft painting - based at the air center. Those businesses employ close to 500 people. RIAC has significant space for additional businesses to locate and develop. "This hangar is a solid foundation for GenAir to build on for many years to come and we hope it is just the first of many buildings we will be constructing for RIAC," said GenAir President Isaac Sheets. "Our goal is to be a one-stop shop for airlines by offering services including parking, storage, regeneration, reclamation, component repair, and spare-part sales. RIAC holds extreme potential and we want to help the community benefit by keeping the money in Roswell as well as creating new jobs."GenAir's new 20,000-square-foot facility at Roswell will be able to accommodate all 737 NGs and MD90s as the company expands its services. GenAir has been selling commercial aircraft parts and parting out its own assets since 2013 at numerous airports across the country. With the expansion at RIAC, GenAir will be offering part-out services, storage programs and regeneration services. GenAir has also acquired a 150,000-square-foot climate-controlled warehouse in Roswell to store customers' parts, offer consignment services and house GenAir Repair FAA component repair beginning in 2018. "GenAir's extreme growth has led us to become a premier one-stop shop," Sheets said. "Investors are going to love to have us part out their assets, recertify the reclaimed parts, store and ship their parts all from one location - Roswell, New Mexico."To learn more about the Roswell International Air Center, its history, the businesses that operate there, and the business opportunities it offers, visit http://www.roswell-nm.gov/307/Roswell-International-Air-Center.
