First WAI Girls in Aviation Day A Success
We had planned to send out a news release today to follow up on our first Girls in Aviation Day on Saturday. So many glowing comments and non-aviation media coverage are rolling in that it’s tough to know what to report today other than: WAI Girls in Aviation Day was a huge success!
We had planned to send out a news release today to follow up on our first Girls in Aviation Day on Saturday. So many glowing comments and non-aviation media coverage are rolling in that it's tough to know what to report today other than: WAI Girls in Aviation Day was a huge success!
Because of our hard-working, dedicated members, thousands of girls were introduced to aviation as a career and lifestyle. We will continue to plant the seeds to grow the aviation community. Girls in Aviation Day by the numbers:
45 events 48 chapters participated in events (some worked together on one event) Events in 7 countries Events in 25 US states 3 Cities proclaimed September 26, 2015 as Girls in Aviation Day (New York, Houston, San Antonio)
Twenty-nine states proclaimed September 26, 2015 as Girls in Aviation Day (Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin). Three cities, New York, New York, Houston, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas, also made Girls in Aviation Day proclamations.
