FltPlan’s 2017 Pilots’ Choice Awards Survey Results Are In!

SOUTHBURY, CT, May 12, 2017 - This is the eighth year for the Pilots' Choice survey and as FltPlan's numbers have grown so have the number of votes cast. With more than 160,000 active, registered users, most of whom fly multiple weekly trips, FltPlan users are the customers who frequent the FBOs and airports they selected in the survey. This year set a new voting record across all categories: U.S. FBO, FBO Chains, Canadian FBO, Mexican FBO, Caribbean FBO, ATC Tower, ATC Center, and U.S. Customs. We want to send out a huge thank you to everyone who voted and congratulations to all of our winners. "The Pilots' Choice survey is a big hit with our users. Million Air (KSUS) and Texas Jet (KFTW), finished second and third in the U.S. FBO category. The top U.S. FBO regional winners were:- East Central U.S., Atlantic Aviation, Chicago Midway Int'l Airport (KMDW), Chicago, IL;- North Central U.S., Million Air, Spirit of St. Louis Airport (KSUS), St. Louis, MO;- Northeast U.S., Meridian, Teterboro Airport (KTEB), Teterboro, NJ;- Northwest U.S., Clay Lacy Aviation, Boeing Field/King County International Airport (KBFI), Seattle, WA;- South Central U.S., McKinney Air Center, McKinney National Airport (KTKI), Dallas, TX;- Southeast U.S., Banyan Air Service, Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE);- Southwest U.S., Jet Center Los Angeles, Jack Northrop Field/ Hawthorne Airport (KHHR), Hawthorne, CAMcKinney Air Center at KTKI in Dallas, TX was this year's Star FBO award winner. Jet Center Los Angeles at Jack Northrop Field (KHHR) ranked first in the ACE FBO award category. The Star FBO award winners are determined using airport arrival data, votes received, and on-field competition. The Ace award recognizes those FBOs who received the most votes at airports with fewer than 4,000 arrivals per year.The Pilots' Choice for the top Canadian FBO is Skyservice at Lester B. Pearson International Airport (CYYZ). The top Mexican FBO is CSL/Cabo San Lucas International Airport (MMSL), and the leading Caribbean FBO is Million Air in San Juan, PR (TJIG).This year, we included an award for medium sized FBO Chains, as well as the award for the top large FBO chain and the top small FBO chain. Million Air topped the large FBO chains category, Sheltair came in as the winner for medium sized FBO chains, and Wilson Air Center won the small FBO chains category. St. Lucie County International in Fort Pierce, FL (KFPR) led the U.S. Customs & Border Protection category.
