Fritz Anderson Joins Bye Aerospace BOD

Frederick "Fritz" Anderson, former COO/CFO of Clarity Media Group, an affiliate of The Anschutz Company, has joined the Board of Directors of Bye Aerospace, Inc., a world leader in the development of solar-electric aircraft.

George Bye, Chairman and CEO of Bye Aerospace, welcomed Anderson to the board. "It is a great honor to have Fritz join our distinguished group of board members," Bye said. "He has had an impressive career working with some of the most influential organizations in the world." While Anderson was Clarity Media's COO/CFO, he co-founded Examiner.com, which became one of the world's largest crowdsourcing Internet media companies and grew to over 250,000 journalists/contributors.

He currently serves on the Boards of Directors for the Oklahoma Publishing Company, Clarity Media Group and Pinstripes, a national chain of restaurants. Prior to joining Clarity Media Group, Anderson was the EVP/CFO of the California Newspaper Group, a joint venture of Media News, Gannett, and The Stephens Group, where he was responsible for the consolidation of operational functions, strategic direction and profitability. In addition, he was an active member of the Board of Directors. He joined the Denver Post in 1988 as the VP/Controller, was promoted to CFO in 1990 and added CIO responsibilities in 1992. Anderson began his professional career at one of KPMG's predecessor firms, where he served a variety of industries including banking and manufacturing. He earned his CPA certificate during that period. After leaving KPMG, he served in executive management for construction, real estate, and retail organizations. He then joined Knight-Ridder, Inc., which at the time was one of the largest print media companies in the world.

Anderson has served on the boards of several charitable organizations including serving as the Chairman of the Board for the Denver Big Brothers and Sisters from 1997 to 1998. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. Bye Aerospace is developing an advanced, high altitude, long endurance solar-electric unmanned aerial vehicle called "StratoAirNet." The company also launched Aero Electric Aircraft Corp., which is planning to offer the "Sun Flyer," the first certified U.S.-sponsored, practical, all-electric airplane serving the aviation flight training markets.
