Gnoss Field to Host Safety Awareness Week

The 2016 Gnoss Field Annual Safety Awareness Week schedule is now firm and offers activities as a WINGS Safety Seminar, Upset Recovery and Basic Aerobatics Training, Young Eagles flights, Airport Open House, Gala Dinner.

Novato, CA - Scanlon Aviation recently announced plans to host the second annual Safety Awareness Week at Gnoss Field on October 20-23, 2016. Headlining the event is Master Instructor Rich Stowell, the 2014 National FAASTeam Rep of the Year and 2006 National CFI of the Year. The multi-day program offers several activities:

- October 20, 7 pm-9 pm - free FAA Wings-approved seminar with Rich Stowell - October 21-23, 8:30 am-5:30 pm - hands-on basic aerobatic and upset recovery training with Rich Stowell - October 22, 10:30 AM on - Airport Open House and Young Eagles Rides - October 22, 7:30 PM - Gala Dinner and Live Music on the Airport - Simulator training sessions also available

According to Scanlon Aviation owner Patrick Scanlon, "For the second year in a row, NTSB has put loss of control on its general aviation 'Most Wanted' list." He added, "We want to continue to be proactive in addressing this issue, while opening up our airport to the local community."

The Gnoss Field Safety Awareness Weekend is a cooperative effort between Scanlon Aviation, Gnoss Field Community Association, Avemco Insurance Company, Maserati of Marin, EAA, Cirrus Aircraft and dedicated volunteers.
