LOBO AirVenture Banquet Registration Opens
LOBO’s banquet at AirVenture 2015, previously open only to LOBO members, will be open to everyone starting tomorrow. Come see Bill Harrelson speak about his record-setting polar circumnavigation of the globe!
Saint Louis, MO - June 23, 2015. LOBO (Lancair Owners and Builders Organization) is thrilled to announce this year's speaker at our annual AirVenture Banquet is none other than member, and polar circumnavigation world recorder holder, Bill Harrelson. The LOBO AirVenture banquet is scheduled for 5:30 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Best Western Premiere Waterfront, 1 N. Main St. in Oshkosh. Sure to be one of the highlights of AirVenture 2015 for Lancair enthusiasts, the evening begins with a no-host cocktail hour, followed by a delicious full-course buffet dinner and ends with a thrilling tale of record-setting proportions!
"Bill Harrelson had a Walter Mitty dream," according to LOBO President Jeff Edwards. "One of building an airplane in his hangar and flying it around the world in record time. He fulfilled that dream earlier this year while the world watched his adventure unfold on the Internet. For me, it was like watching Charles Lindbergh set off to conquer the Atlantic--times five! This is Bill's second major world record with N6ZQ, a purpose-built Lancair IV. He set the first in March, 2013 flying an unrefueled distance of 7051 NM from Guam, Marinas Islands to Jacksonville, FL. Bill's inspirational efforts in designing, building and flying N6ZQ highlight the unique capabilities and efficiencies of modern home-built aircraft when flown by a true aviator. Way to go Bill!"
