MAULE Celebrates 75 Years in Aviation

2017 marks the 75th anniversary of Maule aviation. In 1942, the B.D. Maule Company, started building the Hummer Starter, the first self starter for light aircraft, as well as other innovative products for general aviation including the Maule steerable tailwheel and Maule non-destructive fabric tester. Today, the Maule family continues the tradition of innovation as Maule Air, Inc., the manufacturer of the Maule aircraft. Started by B.D. and June Maule, the Maule companies have remained a Family Owned entity for 75 years and growing. Now employing the fourth generation of Maule family members, Maule continues to provide American Made aircraft and aviation products to aviators around the globe. This year also marks 55 years of continuous aircraft production by the Maule family. Brent Maule, grandson of the founders, said, "We are not only keeping my grandfather's vision alive, but we are continually finding new ways to increase the versatility of our aircraft to provide for a broader spectrum of pilots needs.
