The National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) is pleased to announce Amy Spowart as its new Executive Director.
The National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) is pleased to announce Amy Spowart as its new Executive Director. Spowart has been a part of the NAHF since 1999 and will combine her knowledge of the association with her analytical and management skills to implement the decisions of the NAHF Board enterprise wide. Additionally, she will aid in the strategic development of the expansion of the organization as it launches into its next phase to ensure that the mission and message is recognized nationwide. Spowart started in her new position on January 1, 2016.
"On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the National Aviation Hall of Fame, I am delighted to welcome Amy Spowart as the new Executive Director," said Board Chairman Bill Harris. "Her wealth of experience and demonstrated leadership further ensures that the National Aviation Hall of Fame continues in its mission of Honoring Aerospace Legends to Inspire Future Leaders."
As Executive Director of the NAHF, Spowart will manage the daily operations of the Congressionally- chartered 501(c)(3) non-profit, which honors those who have excelled in American aerospace by sharing their ingenuity, courage, vision and self-sacrifice. The lessons learned from their lives are applicable to inspire greatness in future generations inside as well as outside the aerospace community. Currently, fulfillment of the mission is accomplished in two parts: During the annual Enshrinement ceremony viewed nationwide as the "Oscar Night of Aviation;" and through the NAHF's Learning Center, which is designed to tell the stories of the passion and innovation of our Enshrinees. The Board anticipates exploring many more avenues to success in the future with the now complete team of Spowart as Executive Director; Ron Kaplan, Enshrinement & Outreach Director; and Office & Events Manager Melissa Paule.
"It's an honor to be chosen by the Board of Trustees for this important position," Spowart said. "I've been a part of the NAHF for over 15 years and am passionate about our mission. There is no limit to our success." Enshrinement & Outreach Director Ron Kaplan said, "Amy and I have worked together at the Hall of Fame in various capacities for years. She brings to her director's role a unique combination of valuable skill sets and a familiarity with the Hall of Fame's national mission at the ideal time in our new growth."
Board President, Michael Quiello said, "Amy is the perfect choice to advance the operations, programs and overall work of the NAHF. She will provide oversight and direction to this national treasure so we can reach the potential envisioned by the U.S. Congress when they granted our charter in 1964."
