Precise Flight, Inc., an Oregon based supplier of advanced technology to the aviation industry, has announced it has become the lead distributor of the Rigid Industries line of LED lights for aircraft.

The firm's landing and taxi lights are currently being used in experimental aircraft and those operated by local government agencies. "Basically, Rigid makes the best new lights on the aviation market," says Precise Flight's Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Wanko. "The marketing materials say their lights are two times brighter than the competition, but we rate them even higher." So he's excited about bringing these innovative products to a wider marketplace. The process for getting new replacement parts approved for individual fixed wing and rotary aircraft is time consuming, Wanko notes. But getting Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) requires less time, and he expects those documents to be submitted to the FAA for final approval by the end of March. Sales of Rigid's R-Series, Par 36 and Par 46 lighting will be the first to emerge into the market he says.

"Rigid Industries circuitry is designed in-house to be more powerful, more efficient and to generate less heat," he adds. "The durable aluminum housings used are specifically designed with oversized heat sinks which keep temperatures down and allow LEDs to run cooler and brighter."

The LED lighting products can be used in applications across industries including aviation, agriculture, construction, emergency response, industrial, marine, military, mining, and off-road or power sports. All Rigid Industries products are designed, engineered and assembled in the United States.
