Rectrix Aerodrome Boeing 737 MAX Sarasota-Bradenton

Rectrix Aerodrome Centers Inc. at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) recently hosted Boeing for test flights of their new 737 MAX airliner. The 737 MAX conducted proving runs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Rectrix is situated on three parcels with nearly 40 acres of airport property. Its state-of-the-art facilities and grounds offer operational elements required by commercial aircraft such as a large ramp and ground equipment.

"Because of Rectrix's presence at SRQ, we are able to attract large scale corporations to the Bradenton and Sarasota communities, pumping millions of dollars into the local economy, and Boeing is a prime example," said Rectrix CEO Richard Cawley. "I met with Boeing representatives in February and showed them our large work spaces, our attention to detail and our safety record. This contributed in allowing approximately 60 Boeing employees and engineers to base their operations at Rectrix. Another advantage is that the airport's runways are long, in very good shape, and seldom used by commercial air carriers. Simply put, Rectrix was perfect for Boeing."

Rectrix offers worldwide charter service from SRQ with a fleet of aircraft that it owns and operates. The company is also currently reviewing options for scheduled air service from SRQ to destinations in the northeast. Rectrix is the airport's largest non-passenger revenue ground lease source, contributing in excess of $750,000 annually. Rectrix is a privately held company that was developed and continues to operate without the need of any taxpayer subsidies.

Rectrix Aerodrome Centers Inc., established in 2005, offers passengers and crews elegant accommodations, state-of-the-art amenities, and industry leading aircraft maintenance. Their first-class fixed base operations are home to some of the most sophisticated flight departments in the industry. All Rectrix Aerodromes provide full aircraft handling capabilities for transient or based aircraft needs along with flight support services, including fueling, hangar space, ground handling, aircraft maintenance, and conference and meeting rooms.
