Rectrix Aviation Inc. unveiled the livery for the company's inaugural scheduled passenger air service between Hyannis (HYA) to Nantucket (ACK) planned for this summer. Rectrix will use a fleet of Beechcraft Super King Air 300 turboprops for the popular route. The company expects to receive FAA approval for the service in the next few weeks.
Rectrix currently operates a fleet of Bombardier Challenger and Learjet aircraft, and the HYA - ACK route is Rectrix's entryway into the turbo-prop commuter market. Rectrix expects to operate more routes of scheduled passenger service in the future, including flights to the Mid-Atlantic and Florida.
The paint scheme will feature a white exterior and bold blue tail marked with a recognizable red 'R' for Rectrix Aviation. The luxurious passenger interiors will feature nine leather seats in an all first class single aisle cabin. The aircraft will also be equipped with Wi-Fi.
"The Super King Air is one of the most in-demand and requested turboprop aircraft and we are thrilled to announce we'll be using this aircraft on our commuter flights," said Rectrix Holding's CEO Richard Cawley. "With spacious and comfortable passenger cabins, we feel this is the perfect aircraft for a short haul commuter service."
Another distinctive feature of the short haul service will be the use of two pilots for every flight, making safety the number one priority. Rectrix's Super King Air cockpits will contain state of the art avionics and be powered by two Pratt and Whitney PT6A-41 turboprop engines.
