Seattle Company Launches GPS Emulator Based on Garmin Navigator

Seattle company is first to market with its FAA approved Garmin(R) GTN(TM) series emulator, used for pilot training.

Just weeks after receiving FAA certification for its newest flight simulator (the Tarbes7(TM) AATD), one-G simulation adds another key component to their product line. The 1-G650(TM) faithfully emulates the cockpit operation and functionality of the popular Garmin(R) GTN(TM) aviation navigation equipment. With Garmin(R) GTN(TM) series navigators increasingly common in general aviation aircraft, today's roll out of the 1-G650(TM) demonstrates one-G simulation's commitment to affordable, high fidelity training solutions for pilots of all levels. The emulator, which mimics the functionality of the actual Garmin GTN(TM) unit, is believed to be the first of its kind. "There has been something of a race among competitors to produce an emulator of this type and we're confident this is the first such device with FAA approval," said Xylon Saltzman, CEO of one-G simulation. "With its realistic touchscreen interface and accurate feature set, including a fully updatable FAA database, we expect demand to be high." Saltzman added "The 1-G650(TM) will become the new standard in our training platforms, giving our customers the technology that they deserve." The 1-G650(TM) is available as an option within the company's product line of Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD), and can also operate as a stand alone tool for classroom applications. Existing owners of one-G simulation AATD's may upgrade their instrument panels to include the 1-G650(TM). In all applications, the 1-G650(TM) allows pilots to achieve a high level of operational proficiency before leaving the ground and without the safety concerns of attempting to learn the equipment while in flight. Until official product launch, on November 24, 2014, pilots can demo and train with the device at Saltzman's flight school, modernPilot, located in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood.
