Stephen Pope Named Flying Editor-in-Chief
Stephen Pope has been named editor-in-chief of Flying, Shawn Bean, editorial director for Bonnier Corp.’s Active Interest Network, announced today. Pope’s new role has several key objectives, which include leading a redesign of the magazine as well as the relaunch of flyingmag.com later this year.
Winter Park, Fla. - Stephen Pope has been named editor-in-chief of Flying, Shawn Bean, editorial director for Bonnier Corp.'s Active Interest Network, announced today. Pope's new role has several key objectives, which include leading a redesign of the magazine as well as the relaunch of flyingmag.com later this year. In addition, he will re-establish Flying as the resource for aviation news and information across all platforms, and expand the brand's footprint to engage the audience in new ways.
"Steve has 28 years of piloting experience and two decades of aviation journalism under his belt," said Bean. "Over the past five years, he has instilled his expertise and award-winning writing skills in Flying as senior editor. We are proud to have him lead the team at Flying and are ready to get the future started."
For Pope, becoming editor-in-chief of Flying has been a career goal.
