The Flight Safety Symposium returns to London Heathrow

Flightglobal’s second annual Flight Safety Symposium takes place from 13th – 14th September at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Heathrow Airport in London. This unique Symposium showcases the importance of the continued improvement in global aviation safety through a three conference in one format showcasing a range of issues within the industry from SMS and ‘Just Cause’ to Safety II and the regulation issues.

The symposium will cover commercial safety, airline engineering and maintenance safety and air traffic control safety challenges and key issues, running simultaneously but with the option to move between discussions. The format of the Symposium was extremely well received last year with Neil May, Head of Human Factors, NATS stating it is; ‘A great opportunity to share knowledge and experience across the industry’ and Lucius Fan, Chief, Air Traffic Management Standard stating it was; ‘An event allowing learning and sharing across the whole industry’

At the Commercial Flight Safety conference hear from leading industry speakers including Yann Duval, Quality & Safety Director at Aigle Azur whose session will cover ‘Analysing loss of control in flight’ and Christopher Sangiovanni, Director Ground Safety, JetBlue will discuss ‘Changing safety data into actionable information for airlines decision makers’ both a highlight of the first day.

They will be joined by Alfred Vlasek, Head of Safety and Occurrence Investigation, Austro Control and Eric Perrin, Head of Safety and Human Performance of the SESAR Safety Support & Co-ordination Function, Eurocontrol at the Safety in Air Traffic Control sessions where we open the conference with a review and update on ATC safety in 2016 and beyond plus an update on SESAR developments 2017 onwards.

The latest concerns affecting Airline Engineering and Maintenance Safety will look at embedding a culture of ‘Doing things right and reducing human error’ led by John DeGiovanni, Managing Director – Quality, Safety & Regulatory at United Airlines.

So join us over two exceptional days of industry led discussions across three conferences with keynote speakers, panel debates and networking amongst your peers.
