The Whirly-Girls Announce their 2017 Scholarship Winners

Whirly-Girls Provide Scholarship Opportunities with the Help of Aviation Industry Leaders
The Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund, Inc. is proud to announce that 15 scholarships will be awarded to deserving female aviators in 2017, setting the bar for the entire helicopter industry.
Last year, the Whirly-Girls awarded a record-breaking number of 28 scholarships at their Annual Awards Banquet during HAI's 2016 HELI-EXPO in Louisville, Kentucky with the generous support from aviation companies. This year, scholarship sponsors include Airbus, Antipodean Aviation, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, FlightSafety International Inc., Garmin, Guidance Aviation, Night Flight Concepts, Oregon Aero, Robinson Helicopter Company, Survival Systems USA, Inc., Western Helicopters Inc., as well as private individuals.
Scholarship Director on the Whirly-Girls Board of Directors, Sarah Dufton, stated, "The Whirly-Girls cannot overemphasize how much we value these loyal sponsors and valued partnerships. The Whirly-Girls are excited to not only honor the winners of these amazing scholarships but all of the supporters who stand by our organization every step of the way."
The scholarships will be awarded at the Magnolia Hotel's Pegasus Ballroom in Dallas, Texas on March 5 at 6:30 pm during their Annual Awards Banquet. Immediately following the Banquet, the Whirly-Girls will host their first ever Casino Night! The proceeds from Casino Night go to support the Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund. Whirly-Girls International is a non-profit, educational, and charitable organization dedicated to advancing women in the helicopter aviation industry. The Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund, Inc. ("WGSF") was incorporated in 1974 to oversee and administer the scholarship funds raised by the Whirly-Girls and their auxiliaries, and is a federally tax exempt 501(c)(3) public charity. Initiated in 1968, the scholarship program has grown from a single $500 scholarship to a wide range of training and development scholarships.
